A former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver is a free agent reportedly looking to play again this season, and he seems to have resolved the civil case he was involved in over the last few weeks. Tyreek Hill was facing multiple counts of battery and was ruled responsible for some, but not all.

Jury returns mixed verdict in Tyreek Hill civil battery case, awards $500,000 to ex-wife | Pro Football Talk
The civil lawsuit brought by Tyreek Hill’s ex-wife alleging multiple counts of battery and related legal claims has resulted in a verdict. Via Diana Moskovitz of Defector Media, the jury found Hill responsible for two counts of battery. He was found not responsible on the remaining counts.
The jury awarded Keeta Vaccaro $500,000 in compensatory damages. The jury did not enter an award of punitive damages.
The jury’s decision not to award punitive damages is curious. Battery is an intentional tort. In Florida, however, the law requires “clear and convincing evidence” of intentional misconduct. It’s possible, in theory, that the jury found evidence of battery under the lower “preponderance of the evidence” standard but not “clear and convincing” proof, which is a higher bar.
State shares boundaries for Kansas City Chiefs STAR Bonds District | KSHB 41
The district stretches across Wyandotte County and Johnson County, including KCK, Bonner Springs, Edwardsville, Shawnee, Lenexa and Olathe.
The map excludes the University of Kansas Medical Center complex, a predominantly vacant portion of Shawnee and existing STAR bond districts.
In a Kansas Department of Commerce press release, the state said the map was designed with “clear goals shared by the administration and the legislature.” Those goals include maximizing economic benefit and paying off bonds as quickly as possible.
Long Time Ex-Chiefs’ 6-Year Veteran Re-Signs with Playoff Rivals 1 Day After Release | Heavy Sports
“The Bills reversed the transaction they made to have CB Anthony Kendall on the 53-man roster for Monday’s game to help play slot CB in the absence of Dee Alford. Today they released Kendal & signed OLB Mike Danna back to the active roster.” Chris Brown, the team’s play-by-play radio broadcaster, posted on Tuesday.
The day before, as Brown alluded to, the team made the opposite move and signed Kendall to the active roster and released Danna; a move that was designed to give the Bills more depth at nickel cornerback against the Rams on Monday night.
The Jury Is Still Out on Chiefs’ Safety Room Following Bye Week | Sports Illustrated
Starting with Gilman, the former Los Angeles Chargers and Baltimore Ravens standout isn’t exactly lacking statistically compared to his last couple of seasons. Across Pro Football Reference, Pro Football Focus and NFL Pro‘s data, his coverage data averages out to 10 targets and six completions, 8.3 yards per target and a 120.6 passer rating.
He’s being tried more often down the field (13.9-yard average depth of target) and performing at his recent — albeit underwhelming — standard, but it’s the lack of ball production that’s really hurting. One of Gilman’s main draws is his ability to make splash plays, evidenced by his 28 career pass breakups, six fumble recoveries, five forced fumbles and five interceptions. Four games in, he’s been quiet, which is a concern.
Chiefs star Travis Kelce now embraces a practice drill he once loathed | The Kansas City Star
“Even after the whistle is blown and the play is so-called dead, defensive players are still running up to you trying to punch the ball out,” Kelce said of the training-camp drills. “And I don’t know why … it’s very annoying, especially when you’re in your third day of pads or sixth day of pads in seven days or whatever there was (at training camp), and you’re just getting … haymakered by linebackers and DBs down the field as you’re trying to, like, finish the play. So I was just being a (jerk) one day. I was like, I better see (teammates) throwing haymakers in the game, or I’m … pissed.

49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw’s 1-game suspension upheld on appeal | The Athletic
San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw’s one-game suspension has been upheld on appeal, the NFL announced Tuesday night. He will miss Monday night’s home game against the Washington Commanders and will be eligible to return Oct. 25 at the Atlanta Falcons.
“Hearing officer James Thrash, jointly appointed by the NFL and the NFLPA, has upheld the one-game suspension of San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw,” Michael Signora, the NFL senior vice president of football and international communications, posted on social media.
NFL suspends Rams’ Alaric Jackson for two games after punch | ESPN
The NFL on Tuesday suspended Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson for two games without pay after he punched Buffalo Bills outside linebacker Bradley Chubb following Monday night’s 37-34 overtime loss in Los Angeles.
The league said Jackson violated Rule 12, Section 3, Article 1, which applies to “any act which is contrary to the generally understood principles of sportsmanship.”
“Have to make better decisions than that,” Rams coach Sean McVay said.
Rams release kicker Harrison Mevis after disastrous loss to Bills, sign Jets’ practice squad kicker | CBS Sports
The Los Angeles Rams are making a special teams change on the heels of their 37-34 overtime loss to the Buffalo Bills on Monday night. NFL Media reports the team is releasing kicker Harrison Mevis and signing Blake Grupe off the New York Jets’ practice squad.
Mevis, affably known as “the Thiccer Kicker,” made all four of his extra-point attempts on Monday, but missed his two field-goal attempts. His first miss came from 50 yards in the first quarter, and his final miss came in overtime on a 48-yard game-winning attempt — a kick that was tipped by Bills defensive end Greg Rousseau.

How Chiefs’ receiver rotation could adjust without Tyquan Thornton
Allen, on the other hand, could step into the big-play role that will be missing without Thornton. Last season at the University of Cincinnati, Allen caught 51 passes for 674 yards and an FBS-leading 13 touchdowns. Six of those scores came on throws of 20 or more yards downfield; 23% of Allen’s targets in 2025 were deep throws.
During the preseason and training camp, Allen appeared to be developing chemistry with quarterback Patrick Mahomes on difficult throws, whether against tight coverage over the middle or on the sideline. Allen may not have Thornton’s linear speed, but his route running and ball skills could make up for it when the ball’s in the air.
