Dillon Danis’ attorneys have requested a new date for a deposition in his ongoing lawsuit with Logan Paul’s now wife Nina Agdal after he was involved in a brawl at UFC 322 that allegedly left him injured.
In paperwork filed with the courts on Friday, Danis has requested to push back his scheduled deposition, which was supposed to take place on Dec. 9, after he was sued by Agdal for posting numerous racy images of the model on social media in the leadup to his boxing match against Paul in 2023.
“My
understanding is that defendant is in California seeking medical treatment for a severe concussion suffered as a result of a Nov. 15 brawl at Madison Square Garden, when according to newspaper reports, he was beaten by at least 10 individuals,” Danis’ lawyers wrote in the letter. “As a result, defendant will not be able to attend his deposition on Dec. 9 in New Jersey.
“Plaintiff’s counsel has asked that defendant provide dates in January when he will be available to be deposed in person and I intend to provide plaintiff’s counsel with January dates no later than Friday, Dec. 12.”
The move to delay his deposition comes on the same day Danis was knocked out of his upcoming fight against Anthony Taylor in Misfits Boxing. Danis was scheduled to defend his Misfits MMA title in the fight with Taylor but now he’s been removed from the card after he was deemed medically unable to compete.
Danis got involved in a massive brawl involving members of Islam Makhachev’s team at UFC 322, which led to security and police intervening and eventually ejecting the former grappling champion from the building. New York City mayor Eric Adams later pledged that police were investigating the incident, although no charges were ever filed over the altercation.
UFC CEO Dana White took responsibility for his part in allowing Danis to remain in his seat in the crowd at the event before the brawl erupted. White later vowed that Danis was banned from attending any future UFC events.
“You will never see Dillon Danis at a UFC fight ever again,” White said at the UFC 322 post-fight press conference. “That [incident] and a lot of other reasons [are why we’d never sign him]. You’ll never see him at another fight.”
As for the lawsuit, Danis is defending himself against allegations from Agdal as she seeks damages at least $150,000 per violation under the counts for disclosing an intimate image as well as punitive damages, attorney fees and a restraining order that would prevent the fighter from “continuing to disclose sexually explicit photographs” of Agdal without her permission.
