What is the story about?
On Tuesday afternoon, the Chargers finally announced their first big round of players signed to the practice squad.
In all, 16 players were brought back, including former third-round pick Junior Colson who shined during the preseason.
Offensive tackle Laekin Vakalahi is on the Chargers via the International Player Pipeline, which means his place on the practice squad does not take up one of the team’s 17 spots. Combined with two other reports regarding the Chargers also singing cornerback Kaiir Elam
and edge rusher Caleb Murphy, that would put the Chargers right at 17 for the start of the 2026 season.
