Miami Dolphins’ starting left guard, rookie Kadyn Proctor, missed the team’s week 8 contest against the New England Patriots due to a concussion the young player suffered the previous week in a win over the New York Jets. According to Miami’s head coach, Jeff Hafley, Proctor will return to the team’s starting lineup this Sunday when Miami hosts the Detroit Lions.
Speaking with the South Florida media on Friday, Hafley said, “Proctor is clear,” when asked about the rookie’s availability for Sunday’s
game.
In his absence, Miami’s offensive line struggled against a stout Patriots front — allowing 5 sacks and managing just 74 yards rushing on 20 attempts (just 3.7 yards per carry).
Proctor’s return against the Lions provides a bit of intrigue — as Detroit was heavily rumored to be big fans of the Alabama product coming out of college. Numerous mock drafts had the Lions taking him with the 17th pick in the 1st round of the 2026 NFL Draft — before Dolphins’ general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan pounced and took Proctor with the 12th pick. The Lions settled for right tackle Blake Miller out of Clemson.
We will continue to keep you updated on all things Miami Dolphins as the team looks to secure their second victory on the season when they host Jared Goff, Jahmyr Gibbs, Amon-Ra St. Brown and the rest of the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
