WWE let the suspense breathe for about 36 hours, then they let us know what AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio pulled World Heavyweight champion Roman Reigns aside for as Raw was ending on Monday night.
To steal a page from Kyle Decker’s book, I’m giving Dave Meltzer a 1/2 for his report, and our own Cain Knight 1/1 for reminding us that Reigns is advertised for Raw in Mexico City on Sept. 14.
That’s because Reigns agreed with Mysterio’s pitch that he defend against a luchador on that Raw in the Mexican
capital. Rey also explained how El Jefe Tribal’s challenger will be determined, and Tony Khan will love it… it’s a tournament where the best luchadores from Raw, SmackDown, and AAA will compete for a shot at Roman and the WWE WHC.
He explained in a video Doc Love Jones’s already shared in The Feed:
The tournament starts on Raw next Monday (Aug 10). A list of competitors has yet to be announced… which means this is still possible…
