The injury bug just took a bite out of the UFC Perth co-main event.
Local hero Junior Tafa has bailed on his light heavyweight showdown against Ibo Aslan, previously scheduled for Sat., Sept. 27, 2025 at RAC Arena in Perth, Western Australia.
“My opponent pulled out of the fight because of an injury,” Aslan wrote on social media. “The fight will not happen. Get well soon, boy. We have to rebook this fight. There is no space for you.”
Bummer.
Tafa (6-4) is looking to rebound from his George Tokkos at
UFC Nashville back in July. As for Aslan (14-3), he’s fighting to keep his spot on the 205-pound roster after suffering consecutive losses to Billy Elekana (UFC Seattle) and Ion Cutelaba (UFC Abu Dhabi).
UFC Perth will be headlined by the 205-pound showdown and possible light heavyweight title eliminator pitting Carlos Ulberg against Dominick Reyes. Elsewhere on the card, longtime veterans Jake Matthews vs. Neil Magny hook ‘em up in welterweight action.
