Spain boss Luis de la Fuente is confident Lamine Yamal will arrive at the World Cup in good shape after missing the end of the season with Barcelona.
Yamal is out with a hamstring injury but has recently taken a step forward in his recovery as he’s been working out on the pitch and in the gym.
De la Fuente has been asked about Yamal at an event to promote his new autobiography and feels the teenager is on the right path, highlighting the importance of what he calls ‘invisible training.’
“Apart from
his great talent, that he trains three hours a day, goes to the gym, visits his physio, his nutritionist and his psychologist, and gives himself to his invisible training, which is the most important thing,” he said per Sport.
“Invisible training is something that many people are unaware of. It’s about being 24 hours thinking about your work. Nobody gives Lamine anything.
“I talk about Lamine because I know him very well. God willing, he will arrive at the World Cup as well as possible.”
Spain play Cape Verde, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay in the group phase.
It’s been reported previously that Yamal will be eased back carefully in the early stages of the tournament so as to avoid suffering a relapse and to ensure he’s in top shape for the knockout phase.
