Last week, Syracuse Orange fans told us that they expected men’s lacrosse would have the best 26-27 season of the men’s teams.
This week, fans doubled-down on lacrosse success as you told us that the women’s lacrosse team should have the best season next year. Regy Thorpe’s team returns Dan Guyette in net and the hope that the incoming players can bolster an offense that struggled at times in the spring. The majority of responses to our poll indicate that fans trust the program to continue to be playing
in May.
Field hockey took second place in this poll. The Orange have been a consistent presence in the NCAA Tournament and that’s enough to give fans more confidence than basketball and rowing. It’s likely just a familiarity issue, but rowing’s been a consistent top-15 squad in the NCAA Championships. They are probably dramatically underrated by the fans here.
