Today MVP has announced that they’ve officially added a fight to the Nov. 14 Jake Paul vs Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis card that will stream live on Netflix from Miami. A boxing match Anderson Silva (3-2, 2 KOs
boxing, 34-11, 22 KOs MMA) vs Chris Weidman (pro debut boxing, 16-8, 6 KOs MMA) has been added to the main card and the fact that I even need to reference their MMA records pretty much says you all you need to know.
“This one is for Brazil…the greatest MMA fighter of all time Anderson Silva makes his return to boxing, in front of the world, against Chris Weidman, the man who ended Andersons’s record-setting championship reign,” said Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder and CEO of Most Valuable Promotions. “Both fighters have everything to gain on Friday, November 14 as legends closing out the trilogy chapter of a contentious rivalry, meeting in the ring for the first time following their two iconic clashes in the cage. Unfinished business will finally be settled.”
What a 50-year-old Silva and a 41-year-old Weidman will have to offer in the boxing ring probably won’t set expectations on fire — especially considering Silva lost to Paul a few years back — but MVP says even more information about what they’ll be bringing to this card will be announced in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
