Earlier on Friday, rumors emerged that Robert Lewandowski was headed to Chicago, Illinois to hold talks about joining the Chicago Fire.
The Polish Hitman might not be the only Bayern Munich-related luminary to potentially make the move to Chicago, though. Leon Goretzka, who will be exiting Bavaria in a few weeks, is reportedly also in talks to join the fire per MLS journalist Tom Bogert of The Athletic:
💣 🇩🇪 BREAKING: Chicago Fire in talks with German int’l midfielder Leon Goretzka, per sources.
Goretzka pursuit is in addition to chase of Robert Lewandowski. Goretzka leaving Bayern this summer. Euro clubs want him too
Lewandowski and Goretzka heading to Chicago? Gyms in the Windy City do not have enough iron to contain these boys.
Anyway, Goretzka will still likely make playing in Europe a priority, but it does not hurt to have options. With the German national team in Chicago last weekend, maybe Goretzka had a chance to soak in the full experience of the town?
