The Miami Dolphins visit the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday in the opening weekend of the 2026 NFL season. Miami is not expected to be a contender this season, more likely to land the first-overall pick in next year’s draft than they are to claim the Lombardi Trophy at the end of the Super Bowl. They are 3.5-point underdogs for Sunday’s game, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
How can the Dolphins pull off the upset? On Tuesday, Silver and Black Pride’s Philip Robinson identified what the Raiders need
to do to win the game – giving us a mirror image of what Miami needs for a victory. The line of scrimmage will be key to this game, according to Robinson, and the Raiders cannot allow running back De’Von Achane to get into rhythm.
He explains of Achane’s impact on the Dolphins offense and what he could do to the Raiders on Sunday, writing:
Contain Devon Achane
Achane is fast and explosive. If he has lanes to run through with blockers in front of him, it could make for a long day on defense. In the past, he was utilized primarily as an outside zone, stretch and counter runner. In new offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik’s scheme, we should expect him to do more of the same.
If the Raiders can not control the line of scrimmage, they will be in a very bad way. Achane is the type of back who can and will put up career numbers in a hurry. More importantly, if he gets going, then he takes a ton of pressure off of his quarterback.
