When Aaron Rodgers officially signed his contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers this summer, there were a lot of Chicago Bears fans who circled the November 23 game. Rodgers, who terrorized the Bears for years while wearing the green and gold, would be back in Soldier Field for likely the final time.
But earlier today, in the Steelers’ 34 to 12 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, Rodgers suffered what is reported to be a broken left wrist, and ESPN’s Adam Schefter says it is “shaping up” to be Mason Rudolph
starting at quarterback for the Steelers. Rodgers will have his wrist looked at on Monday to determine the extent of the injury.
Rudolph played well in relief of Rodgers by completing 12 of 16 for 127 yards, one touchdown, and a passer rating of 118.5, and he has 18 starts in his career.
The line opened at Bears -2.5 per our partners at FanDuel Sportsbook, but has since moved to Chicago -3 with the news about Rodgers. The game’s over/under point total is currently 44.5.
The (6-4) Steelers are in first place in the AFC North, just ahead of the (5-5) Baltimore Ravens, and with or without Rodgers, Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin will have his team ready for Week 12. Pittsburgh’s top-five defense will be focused on stopping Chicago’s big-play offense.
The (7-3) Bears, at the very least, will be tied with the Detroit Lions atop the NFC North, but a Lions loss in Philly on Sunday Night Football and Chicago could be alone in first.
