Boston Legacy FC announced today that the club will play its 2027 NWSL regular season home games at Centreville Bank Stadium in Pawtucket, Rhode Island before moving into its permanent home of White Stadium in 2028. Chicago Stars FC announced earlier this week that the club will keep calling Martin Stadium its home in 2027 as the club’s search for a permanent home venue continues.
The construction of Boston Legacy’s White Stadium was initially set to be completed by the start of the 2026 season but
has faced legal obstacles. The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court’s recent ruling has cleared the way for the club and the City of Boston to complete the renovation of the stadium.
“With certainty now in place, we are excited to continue building our club and our community together at Centreville Bank Stadium in 2027, while keeping our eyes on what has always been the destination: bringing Boston Legacy FC home to White Stadium,” said Jennifer Epstein, Controlling Owner of Boston Legacy FC.
Chicago Stars FC has been playing its home matches at Northwestern University’s Martin Stadium in 2026, and will continue to do so in 2027 as the club remains without a permanent home. Notably, MLS side Chicago Fire is constructing a stadium within Chicago city limits that is set to open ahead of the 2028 MLS season.
