It didn’t take long for a major surprise at Bound For Glory. Amazing Red was inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame, then he won the X-Division Championship.
The X-Division title bout was scheduled to be a six-way scramble. During Red’s speech, he broke news that he will be the seventh man in that match.
Red competed against Cedric Alexander, Fabian Aichner, Rich Swann, KC Navarro, BDE, and Ryan Nemeth for the vacant title. Leon Slater previously held the gold until he exercised Option C.
The finish came down to mentor versus student. Red and Navarro tussled for position on the turnbuckles. Red executed an avalanche Spanish Fly. The Hall of Famer secured the win off his signature Code Red finisher.
Red is now a four-time X-Division champion. He joins Kurt Angle and Gail Kim as the only TNA Hall of Famers to win titles in the promotion after they became Hall of Famers. Red did it much quicker by capturing gold on the same night.
