Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo has been quizzed on ongoing speculation that the club want to bring in Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid this summer.
Araujo was full of praise for the Argentina international
and feels he is one of the best in his position.
“He’s a great player; for me, he’s one of the best strikers in the world. You can see the quality he has,” he told Mundo Deportivo.
The defender was quizzed further on whether he’d fit at Barcelona and added: “The best players belong at the best club, which is us. That’s obvious. But it’s not my job to do that or make that decision.”
Alvarez’s name is cropping up regularly in the rumor mill currently, despite his goalscoring struggles for Atletico.
Premier League clubs Arsenal and Chelsea are also being linked with a move for the striker who is contracted to Diego Simeone’s side until 2030.
