Welcome to the Morning Commute
Today we’re talking about Mizzou Football
Spring football has come to an end, but the real season will be here before you know it as the countdown has hit less than 150 days.
While we may be in football offseason mode, SEC Media Days are just a couple of months away. On Wednesday, it was announced that Mizzou
will be taking the SEC Media Days stage on Monday, July 20th in Tampa, Florida — which is the first day of the event.
Mizzou’s day will be assigned with Kentucky, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. Here’s the full four-day schedule.

The Tigers are back in action Thursday at home when they take on South Carolina in Game 1 of a three-game series.
Mizzou is now 20-14 overall on the season. A big home series up next vs the Gamecocks as they look to keep the momentum going.
There’s some intrigue for Mizzou heading into this NFL Draft as Eli Drinkwitz has produced back-to-back first round picks (Armand Membou in 2025 and Darius Robinson in 2024). Per Pro Football Reference, Missouri hasn’t had three straight first round NFL Draft picks since 2009-2011.
Three straight first round NFL Draft picks would be a huge deal for the Mizzou Football program.
Roster turnover is the primary reason for optimism in the program’s direction. Seven of their nine key returners have qualified for nationals, and there are plenty of returning starting-caliber talents.
Returning production will be a promising sign for Tiger Style heading into what could be a fun next season.
Out of Broken Arrow High School, Mathurin, a McDonald’s All-American game nominee, was considered by 247 Sports the No. 35 overall player in the nation in the Class of 2025 and a f0ur-star prospect. She received a bevy of other power-program offers including NCAA Tournament teams such as Alabama and Nebraska, and had a final list of Baylor, North Carolina, NC State, Oklahoma, Oregon and Ole Miss. In fact, she received an offer from Mizzou back in the summer of 2024, but never seriously considered Columbia (until now).
Kellie Harper’s first splash in the transfer portal has plenty of potential. A transfer from a program like Michigan is never a bad thing, either.
