Kyle Shanahan provided the San Francisco 49ers’ final injury report ahead of their Week 2 matchup against the Miami Dolphins.
Rookie wide receiver De’Zhaun Stribling is the only player ruled out. The 49ers will likely place him on the Injured Reserve when they make their roster moves on Saturday. Until Stribling is placed on the Injured Reserve, they’ll have to declare him out.
Kicker Eddy Pineiro is still questionable with an illness. Shanahan confirmed the 49ers will need to find a kicker if Pineiro can’t
play Sunday. That’ll likely be a practice squad elevation. Shanahan said the 49ers are deciding between two kickers but hasn’t decided yet. We should find out the names this afternoon if the team lists them on the transaction wire.
Shanahan couldn’t say when Pineiro’s illness started, but it had to be Tuesday or Wednesday morning, as Eddy missed all three days of practice this week.
Rookie running back Kaelon Black is the only other player with a questionable designation. He was listed on Thursday’s injury report with groin tightness. Shanahan said the team was being smart with Black on Thursday. We’ll see if it means the 49ers have Jordan James active on Sunday, or if Deebo Samuel is more involved.
