Per 247Sports, Missouri has made its first transfer portal edition on Monday afternoon by adding former Oregon cornerback Jahlil Florence.
Florence has an interesting story as he’s struggled to stay healthy
over the past two seasons, following a strong start to his career with the Ducks. Through his first two seasons, Florence recorded 35 tackles, a sack and an interception. He was likely to continue building an increased role at Oregon, but Florence had to miss the 2024 season with a right meniscus injury that he suffered in the end of 2023. The 6’2 corner only played in one game in 2025 allowing him to maintain two years of eligibility as he heads to Columbia.
Coming out of high school in the Class of 2022, Florence was a four-star prospect and was a top 100 player in the country. He chose Oregon over schools like LSU, Michigan, Miami and Oklahoma.
The addition comes in good time as the cornerback room for the Tigers is just a shell of what it was during the 2025 season. Toriano Pride Jr., Stephen Hall and Drey Norwood all ran out of eligibility leaving a hole that Drinkwitz needed to address. Aside from potential additions like Florence, Mizzou will look to redshirt sophomore Nick DeLoach Jr. and Cameron Keys — who just recently re-signed — to take on a larger role. The team is also adding cornerbacks Ahmod Billins and Jaxson Gates, who are expected to enroll next month.
While one cornerback won’t solve all of Mizzou’s problems, it is a good first step.
