The A’s need to use the day off to regroup before the New York Yankees open their series at Sutter Health Park on Friday. The Yankees have the second-best record in the American League and are 2 ½ games behind the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League East going into Wednesday’s matchup. On Tuesday they scored fifteen runs against the Royals and are going for a sweep of the three-game series today before traveling to West Sac. However, they are only 5-5 during their past ten games. The A’s are 4-6
during the same span. But the eyeball test tells me that one team is looking like a winner and the other looks like it has run out of steam for the moment. All of that can change, and there’s no better place than SHP to help a team’s bats come alive. Let’s just hope it’s the A’s bats and not the New Yorker’s bats.
The Athletics will send Luis Severino to the mound for Friday’s game one, while the Yankees will enlist Carlos Rodón for this matchup.
