LIVERPOOL VS. LEEDS
| Thursday, January 1st |
Premier League | Anfield
5:30PM BST/12:30PM EST
The Festive Fixtures have gone pretty swimmingly for Liverpool, both in terms of them collecting max points to this point against their opponents, as well as the other teams in the crowded field vying for Champions League spaces stumbling during the same period. In fact, with a win today, Liverpool can claim a little bit of breathing room at 4th place, with both Chelsea and Manchester United dropping points in their most recent
matches.
To do so, though, Liverpool will need to exorcise one of their most deflating results of late as the Reds dropped a lead against Leeds just last month. It was, though, the last truly disappointing result after a pretty harrowing October and November, where the Reds couldn’t seem to catch a break.
Leeds, this time, will face a Liverpool team that seems to be finding its footing and with some key members – Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, and Milos Kerkez specifically – all in fine form. All three points will certainly be the goal with Arne Slot’s charges hoping to open up 2026 with a win.
