What is the story about?
Who else would it be?
Keaton Wagler was named the South Region’s Most Outstanding Player after Illinois’ 71-59 win over Iowa in the Elite Eight on Saturday in Houston.
In four NCAA Tournament games, the star freshman from Kansas averaged 17.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists. And somehow his three-point percentage was 44%??? Doesn’t even seem right based on how he was shooting at times, but the Illini won all four games by at least 10 points.
Here’s how the rest of the South Region’s All-Region
Team turned out:
- David Mirkovic, Illinois
- Andrej Stojakovic, Illinois
- Bennett Stirtz, Iowa
- Pryce Sandfort, Nebraska
Love the Big Ten flair. Bring on the Final Four.
