The Texas Longhorns are coming off a frustrating outing against the Ohio State Buckeyes, playing championship-level defense, but unable to generate a substantive effort on the offensive side of the ball.
A significant portion of the credit goes to Ohio State and the defensive playmakers and scheme they employed. Still, the Longhorns failed to capitalize on the openings Ohio State did allow them in the game. Missed passes turned into wasted drives, and bad reads turned into fourth-down stops on multiple
occasions. The offense, and quarterback Arch Manning, finally found its rhythm in the fourth quarter, but it proved to be too little, too late.
Thankfully for Steve Sarkisian, Arch Manning, and the rest of the Texas Longhorns, they have a month to get themselves into rhythm before they head back out on the road. But what unique challenges does San Jose State bring to the table and how will Texas respond to disappointment? Steve Sarkisian addresses the media ahead of its second non-conference tilt.
