What is the story about?
In yesterday’s game against the Mets, the soft underbelly (or maybe, the softer underbelly) of the bullpen was exposed. Brooks Raley, Chase Shugart and Orion Kerkering were given spots in the game where they were asked to at least keep the game within reach, yet instead, they pushed it over the edge into a winless oblivion.
So now what?
What is the plan supposed to be for the bullpen and how the team is supposed to use it? Obviously they are going to have to keep trying things, if only because there
are only seven games left on the regular season schedule and someone is going to have to pitch the innings necessary to finish games.
I just don’t know how to do it. Do you?
