Vincent Kompany oversaw and masterminded a demolition of what has hitherto been a high-flying Hoffenheim to the tune of a 4-1 score line thanks to a triple from Harry Kane and one by Serge Gnabry. Speaking after the game, the Belgian coach explained how his team dismantled the opposition.
“With experience and quality”, Kompany declared (as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia). “I told Christian [Hoffenheim coach] that they were better than us in the first half. We showed a reaction in the second
half and played very well. I’m very happy with the win.”
The Bavarians maintain their 100% record in all competitions and remain the only team in the Bundesliga to have won all of their games so far. The German champions will have a week off before they play against Werder Bremen at the Allianz Arena next week, then an away match in the Champions League at Pafos in Cyprus.
