According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, former Steelers wide receiver Lance McCutcheon has changed his mind about retirement and is signing a new deal with the Tennessee Titans.
McCutcheon signed a futures deal with the Steelers in January of 2025. He spent the offseason with the team and recorded a 24-yard touchdown reception against the Carolina Panthers in preseason action. He did not make the 53-man roster but was resigned to the practice squad in September. Not long after, McCutcheon was released
by the Steelers. He then signed with the Titans in October.
The 27-year-old will now have a chance to extend his NFL career for at least one more season. McCutcheon signed with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2022. The receiver stood out in camp and preseason enough to make the 53-man roster, where he saw his only on-field action during his career.
McCutcheon has never recorded a catch in an NFL game and will look to record his first catch with the Titans this upcoming season. During his rookie season, McCutcheon was primarily used as a special teams player and a depth piece in the receiver room. He was targeted five times during his rookie campaign.
McCutcheon was a standout receiver in college for FCS Montana State. During his senior year, he posted 1,219 yards and nine touchdowns, earning first-team All-Big Sky Honors. Now at just 27 years old, McCutcheon is once again trying to stick on an NFL roster.
