The Philadelphia Eagles lost passing game coordinator/defensive backs coach Christian Parker to the Dallas Cowboys, who hired him as their new defensive coordinator.
The Birds might also be losing at least
one more defensive assistant to Dallas.
The Cowboys are interviewing Eagles assistant linebackers/defensive quality control coach Ronell Williams, according to a report from ESPN’s Todd Archer.
The Chester, Pennsylvania native originally joined the Eagles as a nickel cornerbacks coach in 2023 before his title changed to his current role in 2024.
The guess here is that Williams’ contract with the Eagles is set to expire and they’re allowing him to interview with the Cowboys for what could be a promotion. I don’t think the Eagles will be too keen on losing even more defensive assistants to Dallas but it’s no surprise that Parker is interested in bringing some of his former co-workers with him.
With Parker already gone, Clint Hurtt reportedly interviewing for the Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator opening, and Williams potentially headed out the door, the Eagles might need to hire some replacements to fill out Vic Fangio’s defensive staff.
