The Cleveland Browns take on the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday in the final game of the regular season. We begin and end with the Battle of Ohio, but unfortunately, despite a very weak AFC North, neither team was able to step into contention this season.
Here is what the national media is saying about the Week 18 game between the Browns and Bengals:
CBS Sports (Pete Prisco) – Bengals 30, Browns 24
The battle of Ohio means nothing other than pride. Both teams are coming off impressive victories. The story here is whether Myles Garrett can get a sack
to break the single-season sack record. Joe Burrow has been playing well, so look for that to continue. Bengals win it, but Garrett gets the sack record.
CBS Sports (John Breech) – Bengals 24, Browns 16
Sporting News (Vinnie Iyer) – Bengals 33, Browns 20
The Bengals are once again putting finishing cosmetic touches on a season with Joe Burrow playing well and all of his diverse weapons thriving, trying to make up for a miserable middle of the season that cost them what could have been in the playoffs. The Browns’ defense isn’t the same on the road and despite Myles Garrett getting his record-breaking sack, they are buried by Burrow down the road in Cincinnati.
Sporting News (Bill Bender) – Bengals 24, Browns 14
What drama is there in the Battle of Ohio? Myles Garrett will try to break or at least tie the NFL single-season sack record. Joe Burrow averages 307 passing yards with six TDs and no interceptions the last two weeks, but he has taken five sacks. Cleveland is 1-6 S/U and 1-6 ATS on the road.
