Let’s preface this…no one — and we mean no one — wants Bayern Munich to sell Michael Olise.
We just want to be very clear about that.
However, it has rarely been seen at Bayern Munich over the years where a player’s value has skyrocketed as quickly as Olise’s has since he joined the club in 2024. Per Transfermarkt, Olise’s value was around €60 million when he joined the Bavarians back in 2024. Now, the site has him rated at €130 million.
Yup, €130 million…which means a deep-pocketed club would likely
pay even more than that for him.
It might sound like a strange question given how important Olise has quickly become for Bayern Munich, but the reality of modern football is that every player has a price. With reports linking the French winger to some of Europe’s biggest clubs — including Liverpool FC, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, and Manchester City — it is at least worth considering what that number might look like.
Olise has been a revelation since arriving in Munich from Crystal Palace FC in 2024 for roughly €60 million. His performances have quickly elevated him into one of Europe’s most exciting attacking players, producing elite-level goal contributions and becoming a key part of Bayern Munich’s attack alongside Harry Kane and Luis Díaz.
Unsurprisingly, that rise has drawn major attention. Liverpool reportedly see Olise as a potential long-term successor to Mohamed Salah, while Manchester City and Real Madrid are monitoring him closely as a future superstar winger. Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with a massive bid, with some reports suggesting it could take something around €150 million to tempt Bayern into negotiations.
Still, Bayern’s stance has been firm: Olise is considered a cornerstone of the club’s project and is under contract until 2029 with no release clause, meaning the German champions hold complete control over his future.
So that brings us back to the original question: what number would make sense?
From Bayern’s perspective, it would likely have to start well above €100 million. When you factor in his age, production, and market inflation for elite wingers, the realistic conversation probably begins closer to €140 million to €160 million. Anything below that would likely feel like selling a foundational piece of the next Bayern Munich era.
Even then, there’s a strong argument that Bayern Munich simply shouldn’t sell at all. The club has long prided itself on being a destination, not a stepping stone. If Olise continues on his current trajectory, he could become the kind of player Bayern Munich builds around for the next five-to-seven years — the creative hub of the attack and one of the faces of the club.
But football economics are ruthless. If a club like Real Madrid or PSG arrives with a truly massive offer — something approaching €170 million to €180 million — even Bayern Munich might have to at least think about it.
The good thing is that neither Olise, nor Bayern Munich have any desire to part ways. In addition, there could also be a contract extension in the works.
For the purposes of this debate, though, let’s discuss: “Is Olise already too important to sell, or does every player still have a price?”
Just to reiterate, this is more of a question about the state of finance in modern football than any kind of plea for Bayern Munich to let Olise go.
