NBA forward Dalton Knecht sure attracts attention from big-name franchises. The former 17th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft spent his first two seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers. Last week the league’s marquee franchise parted ways with their draftee, only to watch him get picked up by the New York Knicks. The World Champs signed Knecht to a two-way contract today, per Shams Charania of ESPN.
Knecht averaged 4.2 points in 10.2 minutes per game over 54 appearances with the Lakers last season. He shot
45.5% from the field and 34.2% from the three-point arc. His minutes and averages were all down from his rookie season.
Hopefully Knecht sticks with the Knicks. Otherwise it’s all downhill from here. Imagine him having to settle for the Boston Celtics or (gasp!) Miami Heat. That would be like eating a hand-made omelet with only one teaspoon of Beluga caviar instead of two! Perish the thought.
