Zaragoza headed back to Bayern (Goal)
Just when I thought Bayern Munich was out…AS Roma pulled it back in.
Pardon the Godfather III paraphrasing, but it appears that Bryan Zaragoza will make the move back to Bayern Munich after the season. It has been yet another unimpressive loan stint for the Spaniard:
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, his current loan club AS Roma will not be exercising the agreed option to buy the winger, meaning he will return to Munich in the summer – what happens next for the 24-year-old remains to be seen!
Last
winter, the Giallorossi agreed a buy-back clause with Bayern worth €13 million, which would have become mandatory under certain conditions: Roma would have to qualify for the Champions League or Europa League, and Zaragoza would have to play at least half of all possible minutes.
However, the Spaniard is currently a long way from meeting those criteria, having spent the last three Serie A matches on the bench for the full 90 minutes.
It seems there is no chemistry between Zaragoza and the Italians, who are therefore willing to pay a fine of €500,000 to FC Bayern Munich rather than have to sign the player they had only loaned out around six weeks ago, after his previous loan spell at Celta Vigo had been cut short.
Well, this is not good.
Zaragoza cannot avoid the “bust” label at this point and now the Bavarians might have to focus on having him go back to Spain on some kind of cut-rate sale or loan. Zaragoza’s deal with Bayern Munich runs through 2029.
At one point, Bayern Munich seriously thought its foundation for the future of the win position was Zaragoza and Mathys Tel.
Spurs want Asllani (The Spurs Web)
Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly among the teams ready to make a move for Hoffenheim striker — and rumored Bayern Munich transfer target — Fisnik Asllani:
Tottenham’s interest in Hoffenheim’s Fisnik Asllani first came to light last summer, and the speculation has not gone away since.
The 23-year-old’s reputation has further grown due to his exploits this season, with the versatile forward scoring nine times and registering eight assists in 27 outings so far this term.
According to BILD, Tottenham still remain interested in Asllani and are considering a move for the youngster next summer.
Asllani has none goals and eight assists in 28 games across all competitions this season.
Salah back to Roma? (ESPN)
Mo Salah has made a lot of money in his career and now, a free agent, Salah will get to pick where he goes next (and who will be willing to pay him the most). Could he be lured back to AS Roma? Eh…it feels like there would be far too much money left on the table for a return to Italy to happen:
Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah is considering a return to Roma when he moves on in the summer, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport. Salah scored 34 goals in 83 games during a two-year stint but it will be difficult to complete a deal now as the 33-year-old earns a net €12 million-per-season, while Roma have set their cap at a net €4 million, but he could look to spend a year back in the Italian capital before deciding where to go next. Meanwhile, sources told ESPN that Al Ittihad have resumed work on a deal for the Egypt international and Al Qadsiah is the only other Saudi Pro League club capable of competing with them.
NUFC wants Jackson (GiveMeSport)
Nicolas Jackson will not be staying at Bayern Munich, but Newcastle United might be willing to give him a new home:
Newcastle United are eyeing a summer move to sign Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson to strengthen their attack, according to TEAMtalk.
The Magpies spent big money to revamp their attacking department last summer as they brought in Anthony Elanga, Nick Woltemade and Yoanne Wissa, while they also cashed in on Alexander Isak for a British-record transfer fee as he departed for Liverpool.
But Eddie Howe’s side have struggled this campaign and currently sit ninth in the Premier League, while they have been eliminated from all the domestic cups and Champions League too. Now, they want to add more firepower to ensure they don’t suffer the same issues next season, and a familiar face has emerged as a target.
Aside of its aforementioned forwards, Newcastle has been linked to Chelsea’s Liam Delap as well. In a bit of irony, it was Chelsea acquisition of Delap that helped make Jackson expendable in the first place.
Juve could be getting serious about Lewy (ESPN)
Juventus really might be considering using Bayern Munich legend Robert Lewandowski to bolster its striker position for next season:
Juventus are ready to make a move for Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport. Juve have made enquiries to the 37-year-old’s entourage in recent weeks, with his contract expiring at the end of the season, and they travelled to Warsaw this week to watch Lewandowski score Poland’s equalizer as his side came from behind to beat Albania 2-1. Juventus are evaluating him while also discussing a deal to extend Dusan Vlahovic’s contract and try to sign Randal Kolo Muani, who is currently on loan at Tottenham Hotspur from Paris Saint-Germain.
LFC, United eyeing Gomes (ESPN)
Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly interested in Wolverhampton midfielder João Gomes:
Liverpool and Manchester United are interested in Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder João Gomes, according to TEAMtalk. Both clubs have reportedly monitored the 25-year-old in recent weeks as they consider midfield reinforcements for the summer, but any deal is expected to face competition from multiple sides, with Chelsea and Manchester City also linked with interest in him. Gomes marked his 29th appearance of the season for Wolves with an assist in the 2-2 Premier League draw against Brentford on Monday.
