The Commanders emerged from training camp in solid shape. While they put a few key players on injured reserve, all 53 members of the active roster were available for the regular-season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles.
They won’t enter Week 2 that way.
A few key Commanders got banged up in that 24-22 loss to Philly, putting their status in some doubt.
Tight end Chig Okonkwo (groin) and linebacker Frankie Luvu (hamstring)didn’t practice on Wednesday, the first full workout leading up to Sunday’s
road test against the Dallas Cowboys.
Linebacker Jordan Magee (hamstring) got but isn’t on the participation report issued Wednesday afternoon after being moved to injured reserve. He’ll miss a minimum of four weeks.
Defensive back/special teams ace Tyler Owens (ankle) was at practice, in a full capacity. The Commanders had some other players banged up somewhat who had their participation tracked. Edge rusher K’Lavon Chaisson (knee), receiver Jaylin Lane (groin), defensive lineman Charles Omenihu (ankle), edge rusher Odafe Oweh (calf), edge rusher Dorance Armstrong (knee) and defensive lineman Daron Payne (knee) were limited.
