Did Der Klassiker come at the wrong time this season? It is an important question for Bayern Munich, who are coping with a slew of injuries across their attacking department. Nathaniel Brown did not like the way things turned out as his side failed to deliver a win over their rivals in front of their home crowd.
Double whammy
“It’s obviously frustrating. We wanted to win here, especially at home. The first half wasn’t easy with the injuries. We had to find our feet again after that. But I think we performed really
well in the second half. That’s how it is in football. Sometimes you have luck, sometimes you don’t, but we can still be pleased with our performance after the break,” said Nathaniel Brown after the game (via FCBayern.com).
Bayern’s flow was disrupted time and again as injuries kept striking the Bavarians before Dortmund could. Finding their rhythm again was a challenge against a steely Dortmund side who kept throwing challenges at the home side.
Die Roten did not help themselves as they missed good opportunities to take a healthy lead and prevent a late comeback by the visitors. They shot themselves in the foot with the penalty miss and some abysmal shot accuracy in general. Dortmund, on the other hand, were industrious in defense and lethal in attack to claw back late into the game.
