Los Angeles Rams Davante Adams has already built one of the most productive careers in NFL history, but he has a chance to further boost his Hall of Fame candidacy in 2026. While Adams has been far from his elite self in L.A., he is within striking distance of passing a pair of Greatest Show on Turf legends on the all-time receiving leaderboards.
Adams is just seven catches away from matching Isaac Bruce, who finished his career with 1,024 of them. Just don’t expect him to get it all at once, considering
the most catches he had in a game during his first season with the Rams was six.
Bruce is 15th all-time in career receptions, and Adams can get close to the top 10 if he puts up at least 60 receptions as he did last season. According to Pro Football Reference, he is 59 catches away from tying Anquan Boldin at No. 10. However, there are a pair of active players ahead of him (Travis Kelce, Keenan Allen) who will likely keep that from happening, at least this year.
Adams recorded his 1000th career reception in a Week 11 win over the Seahawks on a one-yard touchdown pass from Matthew Stafford. The veteran wideout became the 17th receiver in league history to surpass the mark. That is something that Hall of Fame inductees, including Randy Moss, Antonio Gates and Andre Reed, never achieved, putting into perspective just how special Adams has been.
Adams had his streak of five straight 1,000-yard campaigns broken last season, but still managed to put up 789 yards in 14 games. He is 26th all-time in career receiving yards, and can break into the top 20 as early as this season. The Fresno State product is 749 yards from matching Torry Holt’s career yardage total of 13,382. Assuming Adams can stay healthy, that is a strong possibility.
Finally, the touchdown machine is already seventh all-time in touchdown receptions (117), sandwiched between Larry Fitzgerald (121) and Gates (116). Another double-digit touchdown season will comfortably move him past Fitzgerald, and depending on how many times he reaches the end zone, he could surpass or tie Marvin Harrison at No. 5 with 128.
Cris Carter is the only other pass catcher within spitting distance of Adams, with 130 career touchdowns. Adams has a long, LOOOOOOOONG way to go before catching up with Jerry Rice — only 80 TDs away! But if he continues being a magnet to the ball in the red zone, he can only get closer.
There has been a logjam at wide receiver for Hall of Fame inductions for the last several years, yet Adams continues to separate himself from the pack (and the Packers, get it?) If he surpasses GSOT icons like Bruce and Holt while climbing higher in multiple receiving categories, his eventual path to Canton will be secure.
