The New Orleans Saints have released running back Kendre Miller, per Nick Underhill.
Miller is another casualty of the Saints’ 2023 draft class, which now only rosters one player (Bryan Bresee) from the four-year-old class.
Through his four-year career, Miller has logged 656 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns while adding another 217 yards as a receiver. The former third-round draft pick is also the team’s current leading rusher, logging 159 rushing yards this
season.
The Saints picked up running back Audric Estime off waivers heading into the bye, and it appears he will have a major role in the team’s game plan on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns. Miller’s release also signifies a potential return for veteran running back Travis Etienne.
The decision to move on from Miller mid-season is shocking, but the writing has been on the wall. Despite his very obvious talent, the former TCU running back has struggled to stay healthy and has made plenty of mistakes throughout the 2026 season.
There’s always the chance New Orleans looks to bring Miller back to the roster or through the practice squad, but with his talent, it’s unlikely he doesn’t find his way on to another team’s roster.
