Alex Perez ended a two-fight losing streak earlier tonight (Sat., Jan. 24, 2026) at UFC 324 LIVE on Paramount+ from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, stopping dangerous flyweight Charles Johnson
with a brutal first-round knockout (punches).
This main “Prelims” opener was expected to produce fireworks. Despite losing his last two trips to the cage Perez is still one of the best flyweights on the roster. Johnson, on the other hand, was coming off an upset knockout win over touted prospect Lone’er Kavanagh, as well as a knockout finish over now UFC flyweight champion Joshua Van back in 2024. Saturday’s matchup was a chance for both men to stand out at 125 pounds heading into a brand new year.
Perez, who missed weight on Friday, came out firing. He was completely dialed in on the feet and was able to find a home for some powerful punches. Johnson was wobbled, but refused to go out. “InnerG” kept dodging, ducking, and defending best he could, but Perez would not be denied. A final left hook from Perez toppled Johnson to the canvas as the referee rushed in for the stoppage.
Perez won’t be able to collect a new $25,000 finish bonus because of the weight miss, but at least he has a cool knockout finish to show his friends. Check it out below:
