Bayern Munich’s outside backs are just hurting these days.
With Konrad Laimer already not even dressing due to “load management”, Alphonso Davies was forced to leave the game after a challenge from Eintracht Frankfurt’s Mahmoud Dahoud, who was playing in an advance role up the pitch. Davies left the match and was replaced by Hiroki Itō in the 50th minute:
Davies was also the victim of a very hard foul from Jean-Mattéo
Bahoya in the first half, which had him down on the ground for a spell and balky as he got up. The contact seemed to have a big effect on the speedy left-back.
While it is unclear what exactly the knock or injury might be at the moment, it was concerning enough for Bayern Munich to remove the Canadian star from the match. Based on the reaction from Davies, things do not look good.
