The 2026 Cleveland Browns are hoping to get their current running back, Quinshon Judkins, going in Week 3 versus the Carolina Panthers, with reasons to believe it will happen. Judkins has the tall task of trying to replace Browns legend Nick Chubb as the team’s lead back. The selection of Judkins and Dylan Sampson in the 2025 NFL Draft led to Chubb’s departure for one season.
After a year with the Houston Texans, Chubb retired a month ago, with a little regret about how he handled his return from
injury in 2024.
Now playing a little golf, Chubb will return to the Browns to sign a one-day contract to officially retire with the team that drafted him in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Chubb will then be honored as part of Week 3’s gameday festivities:
Forever a Brown and forever Batman, Chubb’s career included over 7,300 yards on the ground, 54 rushing touchdowns, and an eye-popping 5.0 yards per carry. Chubb was honored with four Pro Bowl appearances and was second-team All-Pro in 2022.
