While the Las Vegas Raiders are 3-1 heading into their game against the Patriots, it is always draft season for the college scouting department. They have been on the road trying to find the next players that can improve this roster for the future.
For most fans, the biggest need is wide receiver. Based on whereRaiders scouts have traveled early this season, they seem to agree on the types of prospects they’re looking for. Last week, they traveled to the Iowa vs. Ohio State matchup, where big-time
prospect Jeremiah Smith is the apple of most Raiders fans’ eye.
The other top prospects were Iowa Hawkeyes offensive linemen. Raiders fans might not know IOL Kade Pieper, but he is going first-round in early mock drafts. Tackle Trevor Lauck is 6’4, 318 pounds, and could sneak into the first round as well.
The only team the Raiders have visited twice so far is Oregon. The Raiders watched them in Weeks 1 and 4. Defensive tackle Amauri Washington would be the highest-rated prospect at a position of need. He is a great run defender with high pass-rush upside that could help the Raiders beef up inside.
Safety is also highlighted, with plenty of visits. It is early in the process, but we get a glimpse of where the Raiders want to upgrade at certain positions.
