Being the son of a legendary athlete is really difficult. Your odds of being better than your father are not great and you will forever be compared to him. Look how many guys come up short: Scottie Pippen,
Jr. Both of Michael Jordan’s sons. Perhaps most notoriously, Bronny James, who many feel is on the Lakers simply because his father, LeBron, wanted him there as a teammate.
Bronny has not had much of a career so far, but his younger brother, Bryce, might have a better chance.
Bryce is a freshman at Arizona and this video shows some highlights of his first exhibition game.
At 6-5, Bryce is three inches taller than his brother, which will help, and he has a better coach in Tommy Lloyd, who certainly smoothed out the rough edges in Caleb Love’s game (Bronny played for Eric Musselman at USC).
The NBA is brutally competitive and at 6-5, Bryce has an edge over his shorter brother. Whether he inherited more of his father’s remarkable athleticism remains to be seen, but he’s definitely someone to keep track of.
