Welcome to the Morning Commute
Today we’re talking about Border War
Missouri fell to kansas in the Border War 80-60 on Sunday afternoon. An expected loss? Sure, but by 20? I don’t know, man … kU is a good, but not great team.
Though for whatever reason I wasn’t as excited leading up to the game. Maybe it was due to the fact Mizzou has underwhelmed and played an extremely light schedule. Maybe it was because the game was played Sunday at noon during the CFP Selection Show. The biggest reason, however, was that it was in Kansas City
at the T-Mobile Center.
Nothing against the T-Mobile Center, but the Border War shouldn’t be played on a neutral court. The buzz simply wasn’t there, and Fran Fraschilla described it on the broadcast as a Big 12 Tournament Quarterfinal game. There’s nothing you can do about it now as next year’s game will be in Kansas City as well with Mizzou getting the home game — but we can all agree is that it should be played on campus if this series is going to return.
Here’s hoping there’s much more hype heading into the Border War next season with a top recruiting class coming in. As for this season? Mizzou has a lot of work to do to turn things around. Sam Snelling and Matthew Harris recapped a tough week on the latest episode of Dive Cuts.
Yesterday at Rock M and Rock M+
Brady threw the ball 30 times in three quarters of action, connecting on 14 for 163 yards and two picks. He was also sacked six and a half times by the Dolphins tenacious pass rush.
A rough NFL debut for Brady Cook. Here’s hoping there are better days for him.
We’re back this week with another edition of Photos of the Week! On Thursday, women’s basketball took a thrilling 68-67 victory over California as part of the ACC/SEC Women’s Challenge. Men’s basketball fell to kansas 80-60 in a Border Showdown rematch in Kansas City.
As usual, great photos from Hannah featuring men’s and women’s hoops action.
There are still way too many questions that need answering at this stage of the season.
