The Green Bay Packers ruled out defensive lineman Jonathan Ford (calf), defensive lineman Javon Hargrave (Achilles), receiver Skyy Moore (ankle) and cornerback Benjamin St-Juste (hamstring) on Friday. None of these players will suit up against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, and the Packers will likely need to make roster moves to backfill for these injured players.
Beyond the players ruled out, offensive lineman Aaron Banks (knee/toe), defensive lineman Anthony Campbell (ankle), cornerback Brandon
Cisse (hip) and offensive lineman Jacob Monk (quadricep) are listed as questionable for Week 6. Receiver Savion Williams (ankle), whose IR practice window has opened up, is questionable, while defensive lineman Jordon Riley (Achilles), whose PUP practice window has opened up, is doubtful.
With so many moving parts, let’s just lay out the Packers’ full roster (including players’ injury statuses) going into Sunday Night Football.
Quarterback
- Jordan Love
- Tyrod Taylor
Nothing is concerning here.
Running Back
- MarShawn Lloyd
- Pierre Strong Jr.
- Kaleb Johnson
Nothing is concerning here.
Receiver
- Christian Watson
- Matthew Golden
- Skyy Moore (out)
- Bo Melton
- J. Michael Sturdivant
The Packers almost always have five or more receivers on the 48-man game-day roster, so expect to see a move here with Moore already ruled out — be it the activation of Williams to the 53-man roster or a call-up for receiver Isaiah Neyor from the practice squad. It’s also possible that Green Bay places Moore on the injured reserve to free up a roster spot.
Tight End
- Tucker Kraft
- Mark Redman
- Jonnu Smith
- Josh Whyle
Nothing is concerning here.
Offensive Line
- Jordan Morgan
- Laken Tomlinson
- Sean Rhyan
- Travis Glover
- Anthony Belton
- Aaron Banks (questionable)
- Kevin Zeitler
- Jager Burton
- Jacob Monk (questionable)
- Donovan Jennings
Nothing is concerning here, considering the Packers will need to scratch three at the position anyway. Even if Banks and Monk can’t go, Green Bay will still need a healthy scratch at the position.
Defensive Line
- Karl Brooks
- Devonte Wyatt
- Javon Hargrave (out)
- Chris McClellan
- Jonathan Ford (out)
- Anthony Campbell (questionable)
This is red alert/it could cost the team the game levels of concern. The Packers need five interior defensive linemen to be able to keep guys fresh, but they only have three players on the 53-man roster who are absolutely 100 percent going to play on Sunday. Green Bay is going to need two of the following players to give them reps: Campbell (questionable), Riley (PUP, doubtful) and/or a practice squad player David Blay Jr.
Edge Defender
- Lukas Van Ness
- Barryn Sorrell
- Brenton Cox Jr.
- Dani Dennis-Sutton
Nothing is concerning here, unless the team gets the bright idea to move Lukas Van Ness to the interior defensive line to help their numbers issue there…which would leave the Packers with just three edge defenders for the entire game against Dallas. That’s one issue about moving LVN around.
Off-Ball Linebacker
- Zaire Franklin
- Isaiah McDuffie
- Ty’Ron Hopper
- Nick Niemann
- Kristian Welch
Nothing is concerning here.
Cornerback
- Keisean Nixon
- Brandon Cisse (questionable)
- Carrington Valentine
- Benjamin St-Juste (out)
- Kamal Hadden
The Packers probably want to keep five players at cornerback on the 48-man game-day roster this week, not because of defense but because Bo Melton is having to play more offense as Skyy Moore’s replacement, meaning a similar body type (likely a cornerback) will have to backfill for Melton on special teams.
Thankfully, Keisean Nixon was cleared from his injury, but now Cisse could potentially miss action and St-Juste is guaranteed to miss action. At minimum, assume that rookie practice squad cornerback Domani Jackson gets activated for his first NFL game.
Safety
- Xavier McKinney
- Evan Williams
- Javon Bullard
- Kitan Oladapo
Specialists
- K Trey Smack
- P Daniel Whelan
- LS Matt Orzech

So what do the Packers need to add this weekend?
- One receiver
- IR: Savon Williams
- PS: Isaiah Neyor, Quincy Skinner Jr. and/or Coleman Owen
- One or two defensive linemen
- PUP: Jordon Riley
- PS: David Blay Jr.
- If the team can’t carry five defensive linemen without moving Lukas Van Ness over, look for practice squad edge rushers Nyjalik Kelly or Arron Mosby to potentially be called up.
- One or two cornerbacks
- PS: Domani Jackson and/or Elijah Culp
Look for the team to make a decent number of moves on Saturday. Remember, Hargrave and Moore are IR candidates, the team already has an open roster spot on the 53 and the team has the option to use two practice squad elevations, too. There’s a bunch of different buttons they can press to get to a 48-man game-day roster.
