Moments after WWE’s first premium live event since WrestleMania 42 comes to a close in Tampa, Florida and on ESPN Unlimited and Netflix tonight (Sat., May 9, 2026), the Backlash Post Show will begin. That will feature a panel of familiar faces discussing what happened on the last PLE stop on the road to WrestleMania 42, and talking to guests — which used to always include Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque, but his attendance has been spottier as WWE creative has become less beloved,
We’ll certainly see some of the PLE’s big winners, and probably an angle or announcement or two.
Backlash featured Bron Breakker breaking Seth Rollins in a hot opener, a Ginger Bread Man-free but not Lil Yachty-free Men’s United States title rematch from Vegas, and The Hausens big and small defeated The Miz and his mentee Kit Wilson. Not only did Kairi Sane not return, but Asuka might have said goodbye after losing to IYO SKY in a feud-ender that lived up to the hype. John Cena shook the foundations of the WWE Universe by announcing a tournament where wins and losses don’t necessarily matter (we think, we’re still trying to figure The John Cena Classic out), and Roman Reigns still reigns as WWE World Heavyweight champion after the main event, and Jacob Fatu is looking at some time off via suspension for his post-match meltdown,
Much to discuss as get ready for Clash in Italy just a few weeks away. Click play above and watch the conversation while you carry on your own in the comments!
