The Los Angeles Rams have added the final pieces for their roster as they gear up for Organized Team Activities (OTAs) and Training Camp. Now, the 53 man roster battles are just beginning. With a new crop of rookies joining established veterans, the Rams now face the annual challenge of trimming the roster down to 53 players—a process that often reveals as much about the team’s identity as the draft itself. From surprise selections to undrafted free agents fighting for a spot, every addition has
the potential to reshape the depth chart heading into training camp.
General manager Les Snead and head coach Sean McVay have made it clear in recent years that training camp and joint practices largely determine their decision making. This offseason should be no different. Most spots appear locked in but a few depth role at various positions remain wide open – setting the stage for plenty of debate over the next few months. As the Rams transition from draft speculation to on-field evaluation, projecting the initial 53-man roster offers a glimpse into how this team could take shape—and which players may emerge as key contributors when the 2026 season kicks off.
QBs (3): Matthew Stafford, Ty Simpson, Stetson Bennett
The reigning MVP returns for season 18 but this time will have a rookie backing him up – 2026 first rounder, Ty Simpson. Stetson Bennett will be the third quarterback as the Rams will want to have insurance.
RBs (4): Kyren Williams, Blake Corum, Jarquez Hunter, Dean Connors
The Rams did not draft a running back in the draft for the first time in the Sean McVay era. That all but ensures that Williams-Corum-Hunter make the roster. Ronnie Rivers will compete with Dean Connors for the fourth spot. Rivers has a leg up on Connors purely from a special teams standpoint but maybe the Rams want to revamp their special teams due to the woes with that unit in recent years.
WRs (6): Puka Nacua, Davante Adams, Konata Mumpfield, CJ Daniels, Jordan Whittington, Xavier Smith
I could see a scenario where the Rams only keep five wide receivers because they use 13 personnel so much. However, Whittington and Smith serve purpose on kick and punt returns so that should ensure their safety onto the 53 man. Mumpfield and Daniels will likely compete for the #3 role but seem sure bets to make the roster going into training camp.
TEs (5): Colby Parkinson, Tyler Higbee, Terrance Ferguson, Davis Allen, Max Klare
How the times have changed. That’s right – five tight ends make the 2026 roster. Unless, the Rams want to trade Davis Allen to a TE-needy team. I doubt it though. The Rams continue to double down on their new favorite personnel package.
OL (9): Alaric Jackson, Steve Avila, Coleman Shelton, Kevin Dotson, Warren McClendon, Keagon Trost, Justin Dedich, David Quessenberry, Beaux Limmer
The starting offensive line will be Jackson-Avila-Shelton-Dotson-McClendon. LA made it a priority to address their depth at tackle by resigning Quessenberry and drafting Keagon Trost. Dedich has been the first man up when either Avila or Dotson have gone down with injury. Lastly, Limmer will be the final offensive lineman to make the roster with his experience as a center; having worked there his rookie year.
DL (6): Kobie Turner, Poona Ford, Braden Fiske, Tyler Davis, Larrell Murchison, Tim Keenan III
The first four are no-doubters. The final two spots will be between Murchison, Keenan III, and Hamilton. Hamilton was underwhelming in 2025 so that puts him on thin ice.
EDGE (4): Jared Verse, Byron Young, Josiah Stewart, Wesley Bailey
Again, no questions here. Verse, Young, and Stewart are guarantees. Wesley Bailey is another undrafted free agent that I would bet to make the roster. Keep an eye on Desjuan Johnson. He has ability to rush off the edge and work as a defensive lineman.
LBs (5): Nate Landman, Omar Speights, Shaun Dolac, Grant Stuard, Nikhai Hill-Green
Landman and Speights are currently the starters. Dolac could be a name to watch this summer as he looks to overtake Speights as the second linebacker. Stuard was signed to a two year deal to shore up the Rams special teams. It’s probably unrealistic to think LA will keep five linebackers but Nikhai Hill-Green might be an underrated signing that could give the Rams zone coverage ability at the second level.
DBs (8): Trent McDuffie, Jaylen Watson, Quentin Lake, Kam Curl, Kam Kinchens, Jaylen McCollough, Emmanuel Forbes, Josh Wallace
No surprises. But I wouldn’t mind if the Rams eventually tried to find an outside addition to compete with Emmanuel Forbes. Maybe a team has a cap casualty.
STs (3): Harrison Mevis, Ethan Evans, Joe Cardona
Mevis and Evans will be the place kicker and punter. Cardona was signed this offseason as the team’s long snapper.
