Crystal Palace defender Marc Guéhi should be a big topic on the transfer market until he finds a new team — whether that is in the January transfer window or as a free agent next summer. Though he nearly signed for Liverpool at the end of the summer before that move fell through, could German record champions Bayern Munich hop into the mix?
A report in Sport Bild details how much the Bavarians might want that to happen. As captured by @iMiaSanMia:
Marc Guéhi is seen as the ‘perfect’ replacement for
Kim Min-jae, should the latter leave the club next summer. Despite the big competition from several top clubs, Bayern are keen to sign the English defender on a free transfer [@BILD]
BFW Analysis
From this perspective it is tough to take that Bayern are simply trying to move Kim on like this. The South Korean international has been nothing but gritty and team-first in his time here. That said, Kim will have had three seasons under his belt and no extension appears to be forthcoming. If Bayern manages to hold onto Dayot Upamecano — and as of this writing that is no sure thing — they still need depth at the position and someone to push Jonathan Tah.
