As the summer official visit season heats up, so too is the summer commitment season with Mobile (Ala.) Vigor edge Jabarrius Garror setting a commitment date for Friday at 10 a.m. Central on the CBS Sports College Football YouTube Channel in the wake of an official visit with the Texas Longhorns over the weekend.
Auburn, Florida State, and Georgia are the other three finalists for the 6.2’5, 215-pounder, who also took official visits to those three schools last month.
The Longhorns have been in pursuit of the Alabama product for other a year after extending an offer last May when Garror was committed to the Crimson Tide. That early pledge lasted about 20 months as Garror began to see his recruitment pick up in addition to taking other visits, eventually decommitting from Alabama in mid-March.
The timing of Garror’s announcement looks favorable for Texas.
Despite a lack of prototypical size for the position, Garror’s production helped him earn back-to-back Alabama Class 5A Lineman of the Year honors after combining to record 210 tackles, 88.5 tackles for loss, 42.5 sacks, and five forced fumbles over his sophomore and junior seasons.
A consensus four-star prospect, Garror is the No. 110 prospect and the No. 12 edge in the 2027 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
