Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich has been around for the good time, the great time, and the not-so-good moments as well.
Kimmich, knows, though, that when it has been good, it has rarely been this
good during his time at Bayern Munich.
“We built a basis for our game. I’ve said in the dressing room that this flow and momentum we’re currently having did not come by chance. It’s not because the opponents are bad, but because we’re working hard every day on our basis and principles. Everyone is ready when they’re needed,” Kimmich said after Bayern Munich’s 5-1 Champions League win over Pafos FC (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Kimmich hit the nail on the head. Bayern Munich is not having success because it has a weak schedule, it is having success because it is wearing teams down with an overwhelming attack that is being led by Harry Kane — who might be the best player on the planet at the moment.
This weekend, however, will present another challenge when the Bavarians take on Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga.
Bayern Munich traveled to Cyprus to face a very feisty and game Pafos FC side in the Champions League and the game, well, went as expected.
The Bavarians dominated from start to finish and received another thoroughly dominant performance from the attacking group. And, yup, Harry Kane had a brace.
Let’s dig into all of the details of the match — this is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Postgame Show:
- A look at the starting XI — Vincent Kompany made a couple subtle changes and it worked really well.
- A rundown of the scoring and substitutions.
