While there will obviously have to be some production done on site from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for WWE’s Crown Jewel premium live event tomorrow (Nov. 7), PWInsider is reporting that a significant portion of that work will be done from the United States. That includes commentary, which for PLEs is usually done by Michael Cole and Corey Graves.
Yesterday, a WrestleVotes report said that WWE offered $3,000 in “hazard pay” to crew who made the trip to Saudi Arabia despite recent fatal attacks on the Riyadh
airport. It was said that some still refused, which could have been a factor in deciding to send camera and sound crews to Crown Jewel while mixing, graphics, and the bulk of the production work — including play-by-play and color commentary — happens back here at WWE headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut.
We heard earlier today that WWE wrestlers and staff who were traveling to Riyadh for Crown Jewel arrived safely and without incident.
