Michael Olise is a superstar.
Bayern Munich’s star winger has experienced a meteoric rise to the top of the footballing pyramid in the past couple of seasons and is in the running for the Ballon d’Or for the 2025/26 season.
His most recent performance was a stellar showing on the biggest stage in club football: a UEFA Champions League quarterfinal match against Real Madrid, at the Bernabéu. And he delivered big time.
After the game, Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard was questioned on the player by @tntsports
(captured by @iMiaSanMia). Gerrard reacted, “Michael Olise? The problem is, why would he leave Bayern Munich? A big club, they are challenging for the big honours, probably the strongest Bayern Munich team we have seen for a while. He is about to take the World Cup by storm come the summer. He looks like a really happy kid, settled. I don’t think he is going anywhere.”
Damn right he ain’t.
As summarized succinctly, Olise is currently playing for one of the most in-form teams in the world and arguably the strongest team in Europe at the moment. He fits perfectly in Bayern’s system and has been thriving under Vincent Kompany’s tutelage. It simply doesn’t make sense for him to downgrade to a club that may not even secure a spot in the UCL group stages next season.
Gerrard dreams of seeing him at Liverpool, however. “But yes, I would love him at Liverpool, and you know what? I wouldn’t mind Díaz back as well. We miss him”. Yes, add Luis Díaz in there for good measure. Of course he’d want the world’s best wing pairing to save his club from mediocrity, wouldn’t he?
Once again, Michael Olise is not for sale.
Bayern Munich is not letting their best player leave.
