A day after trading QB Joe Flacco away to their Ohio and AFC North rivals, the Cincinnati Bengals, the Cleveland Browns were back to trading on Wednesday night. This time, the Browns talked trade with
a familiar team, the Jacksonville Jaguars, where they traded away CB Greg Newsome II for CB Tyson Campbell and an exchange of draft picks.
That Cleveland gave away slightly more in draft capital than they gave up says a lot about the finances of the deal, more on that later, as well as their interest in Campbell. As we do with NFL draft prospects and NFL free agent options, here is our player profile on the Browns newest cornerback:

RAS Score:
Fit with the Browns
A quick review of Campbell’s skill set shows a player who fits well in man-to-man coverage, while Jacksonville is looking for more zone coverage and attacking the ball for turnovers. Campbell also has a little more size, something lost with Martin Emerson Jr.’s injury, to play outside for Cleveland.
Browns free agency impact
With Campbell under contract for at least another year on the cheap, for the Browns as the Jags have already paid him well, Cleveland will not have as much need in free agency as they would have with Newsome hitting the market at the end of the year.
How the trade could impact the NFL Draft
Similar but slightly different, the Browns will need to look to the NFL draft to add to their cornerback depth for the future, despite having Campbell around for at least an extra season.
