Yesterday’s 5pm deadline came and went without a peep from Manchester City, let alone a bid, let alone one that met our £120m asking price.
Actually, that’s not wholly true. Enzo Maresca did hint earlier in the day that City won’t be do anything. So there was a peep. But that was it. A peep from Pep, but nothing more.

So, Enzo Fernández now staying definitively, right?
Well … sure. Yes. He stays. We “expect” him to stay, say The Athletic.
But the transfer window is open for two more weeks, and should someone raise a stink…
As posited in The Telegraph, if City were to make a bid between now and the end of the month, especially a bid that was in the right price range (which may now be more than £120m), things could get interesting.
